What is the progress so far of porting MSC to the Sven Coop version of the GoldSource engine? Has the process even begun? What is the estimated time of completion? Why choose SC rather than another game engine?

As far as I know, according to what has been said in the Alpha thread "nov2015b" is coming first before Sven coop is worked on.

Why choose SC rather than another game engine?
Good one, 10/10 I laughed.

*sigh*

What is the progress so far of porting MSC to the Sven Coop version of the GoldSource engine?
Technically done, but not ready to go live until we have a period with the current code under the current engine, so we can separate code and engine problems proper. NOV2015b uses the current code and a mish mash of the old and new scripts, so it'll do.

What is the estimated time of completion?
Hopefully it'll go live before I quit being alive.

Why choose SC rather than another game engine?
As we've been over, many times before... Because we don't have another engine available that anyone has figured to make work with the mod that doesn't entail doing a decade's worth of work from scratch.

Yet more White-Lion harassment.... However tempting... Is against the rules, as MS:C community pointed out somewhere in that mess.

I don't think anyone was harassing him. I definitely wasn't, I was responding to Dridje. Who should be able minded enough to take what he attempts to dish out.

Meh, not every post I deleted was a personal attack, but they were all chained to posts that were, so I kept the one on topic post, discarded the rest, and didn't send any warnings. Kill em all, let Ma'at sort em out. I'm too tired to put em all on the golden scales proper.

Would using the sven co-op engine reduce lag and server problems like multiple transitions and long loading times?

Lag and loading times, mayhaps. Certainly the client loads faster, and it allows both the client and the server to make use of more memory space. Wouldn't expect miracles though, and some of the more critical issues with transitions and such seem to remain.

Hello, I'm just wondering - from a developer standpoint, how exactly does one migrate a mod to the Sven Co-op fork?
I find the topic fascinating, and would love to learn more.
