The game was called Master Sword long before there was a story. I joined the team when it was a half-life mod with a dagger and a staff. :)
The lore for the Atlas blade was made, partially, as an attempt at retconning the name of the game into something meaningful.

I was very much a part of that. And there was a LOT of thought that went into how that system would eventually work. To this day I still say its a better idea, from an RPG purists perspective (read the other posts in this thread, they have the right idea), but of course it doesn't work out...

Bah, I only used Dread on Dreadwind. All the other Dread stuff you can blame on someone else.
But no, Dreadwind is supposed to be the endgame stuff. Isles of Dread was somebody else's idea.
