That's something that you do after the model looks good, unskinned. Resizing the model is effortless.

When making faces select the vertexes counter clockwise like so you wont get those black shades on the model when they're "smoothed".

[EDIT] I haven't really completed a first model yet, my MS3D is expired lol.

Well , model viewer is unusefull because how should i view it when i have no .mdl file ??

What's wrong with "viewing" it with your modelling program? It's not going to enhance itself when you view it ingame/with Jed's >_>

Jed's shows you if the texture has bad size (and got screwed), every bad face in the model and maybe something more im missing

Flat shading shows you bad faces anyways.

oh well, probably another thing to point is that Jed's shows you the proper lighting of the model, whereas MS3D is somewhat decieving; as an example take the green subskin of the new spider.
