So I go to turn on the torrents, wanting to seed me stuff, at about 1am... I turn on the peer blocker, but FORGET to turn on the torrent system.

This goes on all night... And I go out to breakfast and goof off a bit with the local SB children, without even looking at it...

Get home, look at peer blocker log:

...And that's *just* the Anti-Peer2Peer servers pinging me (that image, only being the first three hours)... Coupled with the other "suspicious" servers, it's a 2mb log file, with over 15,000 corporate snoopers sniffing my computer in under 9 hours...

...and my torrents weren't even on. ><

I love the internetz.

Lol'd, i ran a peer blocker once and i never used it again. Mostly due to the spam logs eating my laptop's memory.

Given how aggressive the AP2P companies seem to have gotten, I'd strongly suggest you do something if yer up to no good - or even legitly torrenting anything, as I'm sure they can't tell the difference.

...But this is generating so much internet traffic, even when you're not doing anything at all, as was the case here, that it's gotta be "clogging the tubes" as a certain Senator would say... Back in the early days of the nastier worms, some of them were actually putting out huge hits on internet performance just by their sheer volume, to the point where people were suing Microsoft to get something done about it - and as I recall from my days of dealing with them, even they didn't make up this portion of traffic, outside of a university or other major target. So many companies, snooping so many different computers, regardless of what they are doing, 24/7... It's ridiculous.

A good chunk of these are government owned too - so this is your tax dollars hard at work, adding to your lag. ><
