[Archive: 2013] Withdrawn from competition.

I have officially withdrawn my entries from the competition and these maps may be the last things you see from me in regards to mapping, should they get finished.

I'm tired of waiting for Valve to fix their fuck up and as I posted in the other thread, the 'fix' doesn't work for me. I'm tired of having to use jury rigged fixes (See Optimus thread). Lastly, there's been some drama recently between some people here, names will be withheld so no more drama arises.

I'd like to continue playing, but nobody fucking knows when that'll happen.

I'd support moving to another engine 110%

Although I think this was in reference to Dridje's "Dwarven Slenderman" model (which he sadly took down) - rather than his maps.

yeah i read that. i felt sad for msc. would think a proper pvp map or something would make it in before something a troll would find interesting..

Already have several proper PVP maps anyways, wanted something more interesting, and Cal had worked so hard on it.

if you wanted interesting you should have done some kinda moba styled game mode. would have been much more fun and matched the mod/game theme.

Already have plans for one of those - but didn't have a map already made and handy.

'sides, not as if we stuck it in the middle of Sorc Villa and made it part of the world or something... Coulda made you win soccer matches to win the favor of Torkalath, or some such, if I wanted to be vile about it.

Any map, no matter how goofy or ridiculous, has to be fair game in msc so long as it A) does not interfere with gameplay B) does not interfere with the lore and C) is not connected to the actual world map.

Well, if had become *too* horrifically popular, I might have required you gather "quest points" to play soccer games - but it didn't look like there was much risk of that.

I mean, a lot of Goldsrc games (and even a few Source mods) were killed by Surf Maps, and then there's Natural Selection's Combat Mode, that I dun wanna get started on...
