cant see?

okay i just got done playing ms snow with some ppl and my lil bro. then we go to helena and i trade my heavy xbow for orion. next we go to old helena then all of a suddon i cant see. if there's some kind of overlay i can. idk what happened. my little brother runs the same video card as i do. so... what's going on?

P.s. it's on every server and map btw. not just old helena.

I take it this does not resolve itself after restarting Half-life/Steam. Also that ms_bloom_level/ms_bloom_darken are not enabled. (Double check that last bit, even if you think they are.)

Is it just blackness? Can you see still see your HUD life/mp indicators?

This seems like that weird glitch that pops up where players cant see objects/monsters/other players. If it is, i think that killing yourself by doing kill or restarting the game should fix it. If its not... then i have no clue what you are possibly talking about.

well, i could see the skybox , all text things most of the hud. when i brought up the console i could see everything. i restarted the game made sure bloom was off. idk i just shut my pc off last night and went to bed. i'm going to see if it fixed itself after restarting my pc now. ill keep you informed if that hasnt fixed it ill all kill myself and let you know.

edit: okay it works now apparently restarting my entire pc helped. i wonder if my graphics drivers failed? and it just didn't notify me or something?

Crappy GL drivers tend to retain "gew in memory" - although I notice even half-way decent ones will sometimes bleed GL settings from one app to another. In such cases, yeah, when chaos reigns within, repent, reboot, and order shall return.
