There should be a cap on the #glows and FX you got going (damage still applies, but fx become invisible)... I suspect it is not working perfectly, as every once in while I still get no free edict errors. In anycase, 4 skelles certainly shouldn't be enough to cause it.
The effeciency/power/lack of moduels running on your computer won't help much, if at all. The #edicts HL1 can handle is fixed.
