Hey, we all know that the cursing filter is doing nothing. Anybody with an IQ above 4 can figure out how to get around it, and none of the admins/mods seem to care. If Kuro (etc) doesn't care about cussing, why filter it anymore? I vote we just get rid of the whole system as it proves to be a nuisance and nothing more.

One thing ye must understand is that swearing filters are not there to protect children – they are there to protect adults.

Children, especially boys, swear at least twenty times as frequently as adults in their banter to one another. After awhile, this grates on the adults' nerves… Given the maturity level of some of the folks on the server, I kinda foresee an endless stream of four letter words if we drop the swearing filter that at least makes them have to think about how to bypass it.

On the other hand, this damn thing censors b*tch when used as a verb, which I think is pushing it a bit, but maybe that’s just me. One thing I do really find a pain, however, is that it censors words in

 statements, and this has already caused an issue when passing code to folks, as you well know. ;)
