Dark Age - an HL mod

Hey

I found this mod a few days ago and thought I'd share, http://www.darkagecoop.com/ , anyone heard of it before? It doesn't seem to be very far done but looks interesting. It has some similarities with MSC but I got the impression it's more linear.

Due to our main "hidden investor" disappered, were are forced to revert to GoldSrc.

...

This looks like one of many, many mods where it's one guy fantasizing he has a mod going.

Somewhat ironically, his forum name, seems to be Fanta.

Their April 1st statement was:

We prodly announce, that we are switching to the Unreal Engine 2.5. We've just signed a licence agreement with Epic Games about their Unreal Engine 2.5, which is far more cheeper then the current Unreal Engine 3, which is far off our budget.
At the same time we are going to switch from svn to git, we hope to be able to continue work in a few months.

Anyway we'll still be shipping before Duke Nukem Forever.

So it sounds like, they went from Unreal to Goldsrc cuz they couldn't license the engine, or somethin'.

In any case, just judging by the news and the forums and media, it smells somewhat like a Little-G venture to me. >_>

Hrmmm... Their moddb profile gives a better impression than their web page, although only just.

Actually, I'd hate to say it - but from there, it looks about as far along as MSS. ><

...might be another one of those incidents where the two mods would likely be better off merging.

I got fooled by the April fools' joke too, and I thought the same thing - it would never be released if the people kept changing engines. But yeah, it seems like they've used GoldSrc the whole time.

I think Thothie linked to the wrong mod's profile, that's a Source mod. The profile of this HL1 mod is here. Someone's even mentioned Master Sword in the comments

That's not to dis Little-G too badly. I mean, Little-G has been the cheerleader slash mascot for Master Sword for a long time now, maybe even for half of his life. What he lacks in competence (and sometimes, sanity) he makes up for with his overflowing enthusiasm and loyalty.

...the dogcats thing is getting a little disturbing though.
