i receive this error when trying to connect to servers! Only started happening today

Disconnected-

You have been disconnected from the server
Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket (Server was unable to contact the authentication server)

Help?

Restart steam.

Happened to me too a few times. If it didn't work to restart steam, it always worked to just wait a while before I tried again.

One of the Steam auth servers is being hickup-ie.

When this happens I logout and login by typing my password and it always works for some reason.
