I'm a corporation
Step 1. Before running a map, check how much xp is needed in order to lvl up is and write it down.
Step 2. On completion of the map, check the xp needed table again, also recording the data
Step 3. Subtract Xp values from Step 2 from Step 1, your answer is how much xp you got from the map
Really no need to put an xp meter in

Given that there are three substats for every weapon line (save for spells, which are each substats themselves), it'd be kinda hard to setup an XP bar for them. It's not like we have a central XP pool the way MSS apparently will. :/

I don't know if this would work either, but why does every substat gets diffrent exp? if everyone would share the same exp i would have been happier :<

They each have their own XP trackers, thus the reason they do not always match up. Sadly, the selection is also random, making the whole substat thing rather pointless.

I was considering, or have been considering, a system where you can "favor" balance/power/prof (so you could favor accuracy, damage, or the ability to use new weapons sooner), but in addition to complicating things, it'd kinda screw the older characters over, as they'd all be stuck with the, more or less, middle of the road approach, rather than being specialized in one of those fields, the way the newer characters would have the option to, as their XP would already be "invested" and there'd be no easy way to "uninvest" and reassign it.

I think this would be a welcome addition. I, for one, have always wanted it to function this way. I dont think most players would mind being 'screwed over' if it meant one of the most annoying and pointless 'features' of this game was finally fixed in a way that makes the game 3x more dynamic.
