how bout this, armor that boosts, attack speed, accuracy or damage when using certain skills, for example an armor that boosts blunt damage by 10% twould only be for one skill though
armor that boosts damage based on element, all fire based attacks get a 20% damage boost or something, or dot attacks get X% time increase etc
or armor that decreases your speed but increases damage based on the weight of the weapon you're using
on a completely unrelated note, rings that give us effects similiar to acid plate's poison cloud or aura of flames little fire ring
more helmets similiar to helm of the dead, helmets that give a damage boost, or damage reduction when facing certain monsters, for instance 25% more damage against elementals, orcs, elves, or mutated things (kharaztorants) etc.
perhaps the helm gain strength in their enchantments the more of that type of enemy you kill, like it starts out pretty sucky like the wolf, and you get it stronger by killing progressively stronger enemies
