Anybody here play? I bought it and played for a month or two about a year ago, but I haven't touched it since then. Its about time for me to start playing an MMORPG again, as I do every year about this time, and then give it up in a few months again. I have EQ: Online Adventures (I think thats what its called) for the PS2, WoW which I am absolutely sick of, and Guild Wars. Guild Wars is free, and has beautiful graphics, but I didn't play it much so I think I'm going to play it again. I remember that I didn't get very far in the game..I think I'm only just passed the beginner area, actually.

Any of you play? While I'm asking, does anyone play the EQ:OA I mentioned?

Knee deep in shit
I got Guild Wars when it was released, and I have beaten all the campaigns that came out for it. I haven't beaten Eye of the North yet, as it just came out and all. The game gets boring rather quickly once you have been everywhere and seen everything.

I play, I've got all four campaigns, and have completed EotN and Factions. Awesome game.

I started playing again last night. I just made a new character, though, so one is in pre and one is in post. If anyone wants to add me my chars are:

Pre-Searing char is Warrior/Ranger named Ezekiel Cuith
Post-Searing char is Necro/Elementalist named Selriel Cuith

Elaborate why it blows, as it beats every other MMO I've played (altho GW isn't really a MMO)

MMO = Massively Multiplayer Online

I believe Guild Wars became a MMO a long time ago.

sry double post but, guild wars isn't really an mmo, u only can fight in areas with like 12 ppl or something liek that, in proper mmo's u see other ppl playing / fighting.

GW = CORPG, since it's not a MMO at all, because of the instances.

CORPG = Competitive Online Role-Playing Game

the definition of an MMO is classified by any game that can support more than 100 people in a game world at one time...

thus making guild wars an MMO.

Any way I used to be a huge player of guild wars, explored the whole of the first game on foot, didn't do any of the missions. My monk/ranger is now over 2 years old.

I haven't played any of the new ones, sort of lost interest after burning myself out on the first game.

I play too many MMOs all the way through and I'm not even Asian :oldshock:. However, I still have yet to give Guild Wars a good try. Right now I've fallen away from MS:C and picked up WoW *gasp*. Its getting boring though, I got a 70 in like 3 weeks and there isn't much endgame progression on my server so I don't log on very much, which is just as well since school has started back up.

I got bored with WoW when I got to about level 44.

Also, Blasto is right. Guild Wars is considered a MMORPG. The fact that you can choose who you actually quest with, and that you don't have to deal with random 12 year olds, makes it a lot more appealing to me than any of the others.

My old friends on MapleStory keep trying to suck me back in... I eventually made another account and character but it's just not fun anymore. Too much grinding. Crtl crtl crtl crtl alt <left crtl crtl crtl...

But Rappelz is kinda fun :D
It seems a bit more complex/in-depth than the last couple of MMO's I've played.

BTW...any suggestions for my next two-week stint? Preferably ones that already have you guys on em.

My fiancee plays MapleStory with her friends. I tried it out for a whopping half an hour or so, and I didn't care to much for it. I'll stick with the NES for side-scrolling-action.

I've got..eh..something like 2 weeks (about 14 days, I think..probably a couple less) on my WoW account left, and then its dead for good. (If anyone is Alliance side on Thunderlord, I can hook you up with some fat gold in trade for something else)

And as I've stated above, I'm playing GW again. Started a new char (warrior) and I'm just about out of pre-searing. Got to get some better boots and I'm set.

I fail to see how GW is boring, WoW is pure grind, IT BARELY HAS A STORYLINE either... all I saw was kill X monsters quests, wich got me bored at level 8, then deleted.

Ragnarok is also pure grind, alteast it's the only Grind MMO with interesting stuff in it. (Classes and the build variations made me love it, altho I don't play at all anymore)

only other MMO I really play is maple story, been playing it a while at that to.

as for WoW, I ran a private server for a whopping one week before deeming it boring as all get out.

Thinking of trying eve online though, I have this thing for space exploration games. Seeing as its an MMO space exploration game with to scale ships would most likely get me hooked in no time.
