I officially fuck ing hate steam.

I was testing a map when i got the error, "game is not available at this time" or what ever the **** it says.
so like usual i delete the clientregistry.blob
then it still gives me the error.
so i uninstall half-life and try to install it again.
it tells me i need 15 gig to install this son of a ***** and its going to take 17 hours.

what the **** steam?
what the ****?


so now im uninstalling steam, (HL2 and all that good stuff is now gone)
and I have to sit through another 50 grueling hours of waiting for **** to download.


Who ever invented Steam sucks.

Ive NEVER had to delete steam or HL

Client blob, or other files with odd names in the steam dir should be deleted, but never an uninstall of HL etc...

Sometimes the GCF get corrupted, and ya gotta axe em. Always fun. I've had to delete Steam a few hundred times now, and on a few dozen different computers. Fun fun.

I've had about seven weird Steam outages this month that took a few days each to figure out or mysteriously resolve themselves. I don't think I'm going to be releasing much this month as a result. But Foamy should have enough to finish his map, which is the important thing at this point anyways.

I get the "game is not currently available" error when I try to launch MSC (maybe other mods too, haven't tried) from the My Games menu by right-clicking on MSC and choosing Launch Game. However when I simply double-click on MSC the game starts up with no problems. Try that if you already haven't.

Or restart Steam. I had to do that a couple hundred times once. But hey, it's not as bad as installing, uninstalling, re-installing, re-uninstalling, re-re-installing, re-re-uninstalling, clearing your registry keys so you could re-re-re-install, re-re-re-installing, re-re-re-uninstalling Rome Total War just so you could play Rome Total Realism.

Yeah. It's a pain. I pretty much just gave up with RTR for now and will be content with M2TW, though I will surely miss my Spartan hoplites kicking major ass.
