Ice staff vs hoarfrost icicle.

So the hoarfrost shard icicle does 8 times your ice spellcasting level for damage while the ice staff only does twice your ice level. Does this sound a bit backwards to anyone else?

The hoarfrost shard ice lance doesn't level spell casting ice exclusively though.

It just seems kinda odd how really weak the staff's version is despite being the same attack.

Ice staff is more of a gimmick utility item, of the Raven Mace/Snakestaff variety, not really designed to be a primary weapon. (Maybe with bragging rights thrown in.) Might find other uses for it in the future though.
