I'm sorry........I'm just dumb.

Okay I need help installing v1.35. I already tried copying everything to C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\hugjuffs\half-life, then I got the v1.35 patch for Steam and copied the contents os MSSteam into that folder. The only changes that happened are:

1. It shows the framerate (How do I get rid of that?)

2. Every time I swing, it says it can't open some like aim sword sequence.

3. My character got deleted.

4. It added a map called original_edana.



When I did all that there should have been more changes, right? Like I saw some pictures of the new edana and mine wasn't like that, and there's like another little potion thing for magic points. I R confused and needy, can someone help this poor insomniac?



BTW- I be going for a week like an hour after I write this, but thanks for your response. I shall partake heavily of the Master Sword when I return.



BTW2-I'm using Steam if you didn't catch on from that install path.



Side Note: I've gone to live with the children on Jolly Farm. Good-bye forever.



P.S.- I never got a chance to return that sweater Lois gave me for Christmas, I left the receipt on top of my bureau. I'm probably over the 30-day return limit, but I'm sure if you make a fuss they'll at least give you a store credit or something. It's actually not a horrible sweater, it's just I can't imagine when I would ever wear it, you know? Oh and I also left a button on the bureau, um I'm not sure what it goes to but um I, I can never bring myself to throw a button away, I know as soon as I do, I'll find the garment it goes to and then it'll, wait a minute actually could it have been from the sweater? Did that sweater have buttons? Hmm. Well I should wrap this up before I start to ramble. Again good-bye forever.



PPS- You know what, it might be a little chilly in London, I'm actually going to take the sweater.

1) MS v1.35 = MS v1.3 + Helmet fix + Warhammer VGUI fix + Steam fix, no more, no less.

2) That 'original_edana' map... did you download an installer, by any chance?

3) The screenshots on the site are from an in-the-works version.

4) Go to userconfig.cfg, properties, disable read-only, then open the file and remove 'cl_showfps 1'.

5) Everybody gets character deletion sometime. You need to backup save1.char / save2.char / save3.char. Once your character gets deleted, delete the file and rename the backup to save1.char / save2.char / save3.char...

6) The missing aim sword sequence thingy... do the same as in step 4, but remove 'developer 1'.

7) If I were you I'd damn well take that sweater.

Odd... It can't be my installer, as his cl_fps would be set to 0... But mine comes with the original_edana - which is just edana without the tutorial sprites (doesn't hurt anything to have it there)... Near as I can tell, he must have installed my installer, and then yours.



If that's the case, then your cfg's will be write protected, as they are with the RAR install. You'll have to right click on them, and click properties, and then uncheck "read-only". You can then open them in notepad and remove cl_fps 1, and whatever else is included in that install that you don't want.



I suppose I should make an installer with Crow's and Cyrax's maps soon.
