That forum was about an attempted revival of the goldsource X-Com mod.
You should try the beta, it is quite fun.

TBH, I think it was quite a neat idea.

Too bad the Source team never really seemed to get out of the starting gate with it. :\

Kind of a tricky procedure though, converting an ancient turn-based, above view, strategy game into a modern multiplayer FPS.

Gawds... Suddenly wishing the forums had a SAGE function though - didn't mean to bump this.

I played both the source beta and hl beta, both were excellent. I have always been a fan of it, so I was quite happy when I managed to convince a betatester to release the beta and later convinced a coder to release the sourcecode.

All we need is someone willing to code in order to make a 10 years anniversary edition, perhaps a modeler to animate the last two aliens(snakeman and floater)
I remember being excited over this mod when I was a kid.
