Well first of all, my computer is the DMZ on the router. (Though that doesn't do anything for me online, I think the ISP is firewalling)

I can't get my LAN server to show up on the network though.

Running OCT07 beta here, changed the cfg to have sv_lan 1.

Still no sign of it on my brother's computer.

He even used "Connect 192.168.2.45" and it didn't work.

Ideas?

Having DMZ on the router, even if your ISP firewalls, is still quite a bad idea.

Its just for testing. When I get the ISP to open me up some ports, I'll go back to standard forwarding.

ATM I can make a CSS server, but when my friend tries to connect he gets my LAN address. But putting in my online address does nothing. When other people try to connect, I watch the console and about 1 out of every 15 make it in.

DMZ is only bad if you don't know how to operate a software level firewall like zonealarm. Fuznet is in a DMZ and is protected quite nicely by its firewall.

whats wrong with zone alarm? In that case what would you use, and saying I don't need one I use my router doesn't count because a router firewall is a flat out joke.

Given a choice I would be using IP Cop however I don't have another spare computer to install that on.
