Mental Powers?

We have elemental magic so why not have the powers of the mind? Psychokinesis would be out of the question since that would involve more advanced physics but there could be abilities such as a mind blast of sorts or even a mental skill that has an aoe effect in which it immobilizes enemies, LOWERS their hit chance substantially, and just disorientates them.

I also think it should be a skill rather then a spell of sorts. Maybe add this to the action menu?

Nice idea, but you also have to know a way to train your mind , because i don't think you are trained in mind from the beginning , so like i said there must be a way to train it , ... just my opinion to it :)

I don't know, but i think there are some things in this game that could be associated with this sort of stuff. Like those stone guardians/maldora lifting boulders and then throw at you. That could be a mind control since you need to make a rock float in mid air and then aim it at something. Though this could also be related to earth/air. This could also add possible future spells that need specializing in many elements to be able to cast it. Like having that 4 boulder lift attack from maldora which is a strong cast (ex: 35 mental power if this was to be added, 30 earth/30 air). Then associate each element/sub with different things like: the higher the mental power = the faster you cast the spell; the higher the earth lvl = more boulders lift with higher lvls (starting with 1 and max limited to 4); the higher the air lvl = higher the dmg dealt upon impact against a creature and possibly a higher area of effect blast when hitting the ground/wall close to an enemie.

Yesterday, i was with srgnt rehab, so we both discussed about how it would be nice to have some fear spells aswell, for affliction. He said, it should be some strong single hit spell (just like rebuke, but alot stronger and for living stuff aswell) which had the side effect of putting things in fear for a time. Personally i added another choice, Fear makes the enemie either run away in fear/lower the chances to hit you for a longer time related to lightning dot/chance for a long duration stun like a blunt weapon stun.

EDIT: @Bordoga; Mental powers could always be started with lower class spells like, manipulating lower lvl enemies into killing each other (dont think this is possible though). OR you could always lvl up mental power by casting summons of your own, they kill things and get xp for that subskill (not sure if this is also possible). And finally... mental power could be lvl'd slower than the other subskills each time you use any other element, casting a spell requires concentration, that means you are already using your mind to perfect your spell and then cast it. This could be like 10-25% of xp obtained by fire from a 1k xp kill is used in mental power, the biggest part of the xp obtained would go to fire still(10-25% to mental xp and 75%-90% to fire xp).

Perhaps there would be a mental power self-buff.
Increases Spell damage by 25%
Increases Spell mana cost by 50%
10% of the damage dealt with the buff on goes to mental experience.
Lasts 45 seconds

Example, a volcano that does 50 damage would go up to 75 damage and cost 120 mana.
Gain 90 fire exp and 10 mental exp

Shh, I posted this comment as soon as I woke up, I had a dream about it.....

It would only be 62.5 damage, but its still better then 50 damage...
