missing models

i dont know why but whenever i go on an fn server i crash due to missing darkmaul and raven mace files can someone help?

You need to download and install the MasterSword v1.1 pre-release beta pack of November 1st 2006. Or just the "November 1st update" in short.

Grab it here:

That pack contains all the current updates you need (including the missing models).

i did that but still had the problem maybe i need to reinstall the beta package

Be sure it installed to the proper folder (that it is actually pointing to your Steam folder). If you've installed Steam multiple times without uninstalling, or if your registry is damaged, it may point to the wrong folder.

\Steam\SteamApps\YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME\half-life\msc

Install the patch to a temporary folder, and manually copy it to the proper folder? :\ ...clear the internet cache and redownload the patch?

My information.
In the area of missing models; I noticed that the boneblade doesn't have a model to view for 3rd person or for other people holding it. Only a first person model shows up.

I have downloaded Orochi's model packs, and downloaded & redownloaded your patches Thothie; but I don't seem to have that model -_-

Prob have to wait until December or Orochi looks into it (not sure if it's script or model issue atm- not looked yet.)

There is a player model there - serving as the world model (you'll notice if you toss it, it floats in the air).

PS. Dun get used to that thing, I realize how out of whack it is. (my mistake for testing it under Smallarms level 12)

Turns out to be a bit much if your Small Arms is high.

I'll either nerf the damage/absorption rate, or put a cap on the absorption rate.

I see what I did wrong as far as the model is concerned - evidentally mixed up the player and weapon models... er... or rather... Orochi mixed up - I had to reverse them in the script to make it look right.

It's one of those weapons that is in the wrong hand though - you'll have to get Orochi to fix that - I've no clue how.

Can you please make the maxinum absorption rate at least 30 HP per hit!! If it goes below that, then certain bosses who do like 150-200 dmg per hit won't be worth fighting against. Also if you're party/friends die and you are attempting to struggle not to die against those Ice Orcs on nightmare_thornlands, it is still really hard to stay alive with them!

Perhaps you could just switch it over to a one-eigth regen rate? It'd still be useful, yet not overpowered in your eyes (for reasonable love by players and that such, I personally would say, at worst, one-sixth).

I will base it on weather or not my 700hp test char with his, now, 30 small arms skill can solo Graznux and Ice chief with it, toe-to-toe, and nerf it until he can't.

Hi... major problems! I installed the MSC - 1.0 main download from the msremake page, then came onto thothies page and downloaded the most recent MSC beta package and installed it. For some reason though im missing models and cant play because it just crashes on loading... the model it says im missing atm is scymitar_handsT.mdl.
What do i do!!! Where are these models?

EDIT:: I copied some other models and renamed them to overcome the missing scimitar models... but now the gang just freezes completely when loading a server. Like i tried to make a LAN game but it just hung the whole machine right at the end of the loading sequence.... The MSC beta package i downloaded was November 1st. PLEASE HELP!

D'oh... Surprised no one noticed this bugger before... Those aren't actually used - but seems they are still part of the precache... Fixed Dec 1st.

Meanwhile, easist thing to do would be to grab Orochi's model pack, should have those models:

Hmm... Well it has one, but it's in the wrong hand, so you can hardly see it and yer constantly sticking it through yourself... I'll need Orochi to fix that I suspect... (I dunno if I can just swap the animations and keep the model form to fix it or not)

On the plus side, I managed to pull the spider blade out your your ass (I missed the submodel by 2 in the script). I've also managed to merge a bunch of sword player/world models into the p_swords system, and remove a bunch of xxxT.mdl's from swords, blunts, and smallarms - and merge the two crest sets into one model with even more skins... So the item limit is looking to be less and less of an issue, if I can keep merging things at this rate.

Sadly, this effort takes time from hard code, but Orochi hasn't come out of his cave yet to do this bit.
