noo, i was lvl 10 on 2 weapons and 8 in litning magic and 5 in fire magic and i got 850 gold and GOOD eq. AND I LOST MY CHAR! How do i get it back. I saw .backups in the \SAVE folder.
This has happened to me as well, except the files were all still there. Previously I would just reload the map and be able to choose my char again, that doesn't work now. The .char and .char.backup files are still in \save but the character doesn't come up on the selection screen. Have tried removing the .backup from second file name, tried renaming the first file to all sort of things, nothin.
Try making a new character in another place(3 places to make characters)...when i had this problem i did that and my character showed up...dont make a new one at the same place as your old character...
I dont know if this will work but its worth to try....
The backup file doesn't really do anything, ive tested this out with some various characters and when the regular file saves, the backup saves with it. So its like having 2 of the same save file, if one is corrupted the other is as well. Maybe in a patch you could make it so the backup copys the last save before it makes the new save, then after it copys it to the backup, it makes the new updated save file with the new info.
