I've created an online server before, but "my" character is in the fuznet database. So I decided to create an online server while connecting to Fuznet. I copied the ip and password into the server file, as well as enabling the central server option. However, when I try to create a server, the progress bar gets stuck about 1/3 of the way at "Creating local server" or something of that nature. LAN isn't selected. Anyone have any ideas?

hey, some of you have probably seen me around begging for answers, so i just made a name anyways

i am trying to create a personal listenserver that connects to fuzznet because i hate someone stealing my damn rats. the problem is i cant. i took off zonealarm, i copied the vars into the listenserver.cfg i set sv_lan to 0 and the char to 0 and so on so forth, took every bit of advice and it wont work. it keeps loading my server as a normal one, not connected to fuzznet and with characters saved on the server. help? /cry

theres really no other problems other than the main one. as in. there arent. i just want me own flippin rats to pwn :(

Weird, all I had to do was change the last lines in listenserver.cfg to the ip and pass of the central server, and it worked perfectly.

It maybe... I don't think so... but it maybe you need to open a port to access the Fuznet? I dunno - I've never had to, but you may have a funky router or somethin. If you do, the port woud be: 5710 or 5711

If your listen server is crashing before it starts - I've no solution for that though.

Don't believe you need to open a port as it's outbound only communication.

I needed to set up port forwarding for TCP/UDP 27015 (the generic HL port) for my server to be joinable (and listed on Steam).

When you create your server, view the console to learn what public port the server is using.

You must get your \msc folder in the \dedicated server folder by either copy + pasting it there or extracting it there with the self-extractor.

funny, i got it working by tweaking the listenserver options under the establish a kingdom screen..

mine works with
zonealarm off
characters are saved "3 on server"
central server enabled
i went ahead and added the cboat.mine.nu and "testing" under that as well
and i ujst start a map, i dont know exactly how i got it working but it works now :)

erm.. every once and awhile it will stop working.. the game loads perfectly fine but the instant i see the loading screen where you choose your character, it crashed and the message "MOD__extradata cahing failed!" displays. i'm reinstalling MS and going to install the latests patch, try it all again.. hope it works.
