Shuriken came up with this idea when we were bored with pvp on Edana. We started doing it on the spawning platform, so I just quickly made a little map for everyone to try it out. Basically, you take off your helmet (optional) and all go to the middle platform. After 1 minute, the walls will appear, preventing people from joining in the battle. To win, you must kick your opponents off the side to their deaths. There's a trigger_hurt negative over the arena to keep the players healed while fighting. After all, the point is to knock them off, not kill them. When a player dies, they are sent into the outside ring and allowed to spectate the rest of the match. At the moment, you have to reload the map to start another round =\

Thanks to Squirrel for the entities.

NOT FN LEGAL, YET. Thothie - it has no monsters and no treasures/items, so you can approve it fairly quickly, I think. The RMF is available for DL in your inbox. As for the .bsp...

Not as quick as it should have been. Mappers fail to get the concept of "I don't want you to make it look fancy, just do the ents".

Anyway, it's not a fancy looking map, but I don't want it to be, and it's done >_>

>.< Fancy is good though. If I made maps as simple as this, I could have made a mod already.

You linked the RMF, not the BSP. ;)

I don't approve RMF's - only the gods know what ya may stick in there before you compile. ;)

I'm a bad mapper and I can't stay motivated after the first few days. I'm better at coming up with the designs and just distributing them >_>

True ;-) And I think people would prefer having higher quality maps with good stories rather than crappy looking maps that never get released... With good stories.

I want to see maps being altered through quests.

Carts smashing through city walls, mountains collapsing over you as a result of an aggravated wizard or stone statues of old, fallen and noble warriors suddenly walking into life and attacking you (that just made me think of Tomb Raider...)

I so 100% agree with Evaan, theres not enough events happening within the maps themselves. I want to see more walls exploding with orcs/skeletons/animated armors flooding in and floors collapsing while your party escapes.

Oh, how I remember when we fought old Lord Undamael...

Enter the portal... Look around at the arena we just managed to get ourselves into... walk forward to what seeme like an exit portal... Suddenly the ground would shake, a portal would open and out came Undamael... Huge and dreadful, all bloody and red.

It was epic.

Go to Lord BS in Calruin2, I think you'll find his play place quite a bit more epic, and not entirely dissimilar. ;)
