RETARDED BLACK SCREEN AND ERROR!

I keep getting the black screen when i create a server and when i join a server. I didnt do this before but yesterday when i was playing the game crashed and now it does this. Not only does it give me the black screen but it says this error over and over again in the console:

Retry character data connect...
