STEAM needs a better network

I got this while trying to install a game...

hmm denial of service... This just seems wrong on so many levels, I spent good money on that game. I should be able to install it any time I dam well please.

Instead they have the right to deny me?

At least it is better now than it was a few years ago.

I do miss WON sometimes though. Being able to install, and play your games on any computer via downloading them is nice though.

it is nice to be able to download and install on any computer, but it defeats the purpose if you get denial of service.

Since about four days, everytime I start Steam, "[unknown]" wants to add me to their friends list. When I click accept, it gives an error message that "[unknown] could not be added" and when I click deny, the request just vanishes. But it pops up every time I start Steam and it's really annoying.

I'm assuming this is another one of Steam's impossible-what-the-hell bugs which can't be fixed...?

WON was awesome, but the updates that allowed you to play with other people on Counter-Strike were non-existent or the links had broken ages ago. It also downloaded maps without telling you, but I still kinda preferred it. If we had Steam combined with WON, it'd be great! :3

I used to play on Steam years ago, and I had put my HL and CS CD Keys in there. (Given..this was at least FIVE YEARS ago) I forgot my username/password, because I hated Steam and swore I'd never use it again. Fast forward to maybe a year ago, I try to install HL and CS to play around, and I can't find updates anywhere. What the hell? CS used to be a free game! I ended up having to download Steam again, and I can't remember my username/password. I send an e-mail to Support, and it takes TWO MONTHS to get an e-mail back from them saying they couldn't help me. Saying some crap about I had to send my CD Keys in with $10 for each of them. I kept e-mailing them back trying to get them to help me recover my username/password, to no luck. Always the same thing until 2 weeks ago. Someone finally asks what my username was, and I told them. I got an e-mail back the next day (quickest response, EVER! Usually it takes them at least 3 weeks for me) saying he has reset my password and secret question, and that I could now login.

I still hate Steam.

Internet services with dynamic IP adress never get Steam to start until very late, If someone knows a way to solve this, please post it
