Text box problem that just happens to have been solved

I'm an idiot who keeps deleteing my own support posts so no one else can benefit from them, muahahaha!!

I was in the server when it happened to him. He had a problem with the text HUD. It would not show what people were saying, just a single space against the ms_txthud_bgtrans 1 (AKA black line). We had to communicate to him through roll for a while. That was basically what was left out.

Maybe MSC should just get an all new textbox layout. The current one is very buggy.

ms_txthud_width is 640, but when I press HOME and then PGUP to scroll it up, the arrow that normally appears at the bottom-right-hand corner of the box appears in that thin black line you see in the screenshot, which tells me that the width is screwed.

Why, MS:C, why?

I'd just reinstall MS: C.

I really ought to investigate myself before I go snooping around the forums looking for answers.

I managed to fix it myself by changing the resolution down to 1024x768 then back up to 1280x1024. I can see again!
