like wood of foutpost that makes a wooden sound of opposing force.
or grass with a grass type sound when u step over it

Isn't the noise it makes defined by its properties in the vmf? Or is that just Source...?

They are defined by texture, in the sound/materials.txt

Could expand on that list and stick the update in a betapack. Not sure which textures I'd use though.

It's the materials. Go to your msc\sound folder and open materials.txt, there you can define what sounds like what. I think. :D

EDIT: Snap, Thothie beat me to it lol :eek:

also if i add a texture in the list and (maybe) release a map woudl u guys hear the sound of the texture i added?

you would have to release the map and include your custom materials.txt(which would overwrite the original). dont bother doing that though.

If you have textures you would like to add to the materials.txt, give me their names, and I will integrate that into the betapack - so long as it isn't such a common ground texture that it winds up making an annoying noise everywhere we walk in other maps.
