I don't think you can (I never could find a way). But what you can do is make one area your sky texture with what ever sky you want, and the other area an actual brush with the actual sky texture.

If you get what I am saying. One area having the blue texture named sky and the other area having the desert texture named desert_top/desert_left/desert_right...

That would end up looking flat

no, flat as in - it wouldn't even look like a skybox.

anyways, couldn't you just..make a "new" skybox, with images from the current ones that you want?

Yeah, you'd have to make your own skybox texture.

Tis only two ways I could think to do it:
1) Make custom sky texture with different skys on different textures
- Only good if the map is almost entirely undergound, and you can only see 'bits' of the sky at very specific angles.
2) Make illusionary domes/boxes surrounding windows with a custom textures (not "sky")
- Again, only good for mostly indoor/underground map, but you could use the skybrush for one area, and this for another.

You can, also, stack additive func_conveyors's on top of each other to make a fairly convincing sky, provided you are aiming for stormy skies, or some such, and have it situated in such a way that the sky ceiling is flat. (Seen it done a few times, looks kinda neat if you do it right.)

That one that's totally unrelated to this and you may have well had posted publically? Yes, I got that one. ;)

I already wrote a response to that suggestion in the forums, ie. there's already a single player system in progress that doesn't work too dissimarly from what you suggested.

You can check if people got your PMs:

"You have no new messages"->"Outbox"

Messages that are sent but haven't been read are in the Outbox.
Messages that have been sent and read are in the Sentbox.
