AMX is not a real user friendly thing to configure - if one can't get the HLDS to work - I wouldn't bother with the AMX.

If AMX is loading - the command list is accessed via amx_help.

Most other issues are solved by examining the readme included with the amx download. Thusly:

AMX for MS:C

This would go in your msc folder, overwriting existing files

Works for both dedicated and listen servers

Most amx menus will not work due to the MSC rekeying.

An altered beta votemap command, activated by clients in chat or console, is included to remedy this.

For more info see:
msc\addons\amx\doc

StevenLAFI's crashed.cfg plugin:
Your HLDS command line will need to be appened with the command +exec crashed.cfg
All other map commands in the HLDS command line should be removed.
This will cause the server to return to the map it was last on, in event of crash.

AMX Configuration files of note:
msc\addons\amx\config\amx.cfg
msc\addons\amx\config\users.ini
msc\addons\amx\config\plugins.ini
msc\motd.txt

Votemap system:
Add your custom third-party maps to your server.cfg seperated by spaces like so:
custommaps "ww1 unrest pvp_archery"
If you fail to do this, the votemap system will default to:
"ww1 unrest pvp_archery pvp_arena" as its list of custom maps.
If you have no custom maps, use:
custommaps "none"

The zip file has to be decompressed to the MSC folder, overwritting any files. (Paticularly the lislib.gam) - and you MUST edit the users.ini to give yourself admin access. (Although I think it is already set to give the host admin access on listen servers, automagically.)

I know this is a little off-topic but you can actually use amx to cheat.....
I might have cheated a little but i wont do it anymore after the char reset, I promise!
if you download amx and install it you can enable plugins. there's a godmode plugin. if you enable the godmode the monsters cant hit you.
I promise i wont do it anymore!

I created the server on internet to get FN working then switched to lan as fast a possible, so you cant see the server. when I'm done switch back to internet and disconnect.

There's no Godmode plugin included in the AMX package provided (nor in the default AMX package), but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Granted you can get similar effects without AMX, simply by tweaking your net settings or the script dll, as I had painfully demonstrated to me recently.

If you use any of those methods to pump up an [FN] character, you very will likely find your character deleted, and have to start all over again, as a few individuals have already discovered.
