The idea is in two parts:

First, is it plausible to allow players to choose between Proficiency, Balance, and Power when they level up? For example, a player could opt to level up proficiency more than balance or power. A noob could quickly boost his proficiency level in swords to 20 and be capable of wielding hoarfrost. However, it would do far, far less damage because said noobs power and balance level is still at 1. If this idea is plausible, does anyone think it is actually a good idea?

On to the second part. Assuming the above is both plausible and a good idea, what does the community think about having each race earn their 'stat bonus' on a different category? For example, every time an elf leveled up their proficiency category they would receive the stat bonus that often comes with leveling up. This would encourage different gameplay styles for each of the races without a complete rework of the system (which sounds like a herculean task to me, especially when it comes to gameplay balance. )

- Since elves are 'finesse' fighters they would earn their stat bonus on proficiency.
- Dwarves serve Urdual and therefore it would make sense to gain a bonus on balance
- Humans would gain a stat bonus with power because torkalath admires strength (I think it says something similar to this at the_wall?).

It might make sense to switch Dwarves and Humans around, I dunno. What think you all?

How do I get out of this box?
May Also want to mentions somthing regarding their Gods/Beliefs.

Dwarves - Urdual
Elves - Felewyn
Humans - Torkalath. (Well, i'm not too sure, considering they ARE the in-Between race)

Other than that, A-Okay. We'll have to see what other think though.

Dwarves are the sons of Urdual, so if we were to force them, it'd be balance.

And yes, Torkaloth admires strength, but when it pertains to strength of will. Felewyn can admire the strength of her soldiers of order, while Torkaloth can admire the will of his people to live as they see fit.

Also, it's in the works that you should be able to level sub-stats by choice.

If it could be done with a QC edit, I woulda done it myself ages ago. ;)

If it were to be a submodel, it'd have to be an all new model rigged to the same bone set, which would be really hard.

I *think* we can do it as a separate model now, but that'd still require a new model with a compatible animation set - not the same bones, mind ye, just the same set of animation types with the same names (and controllers/attachments).
