You don't need to clear anything up. We'd never believe Zun. ;)

I like the fact he ran away from Ms:C and tried to apply as a staff member for Ms:S

I lol'd for hours. He also claimed to have "found one of the coders" or something. I can't really read hiw wall'o'failtext posts without getting a headache.

Hello, I haven't played MS:C in a long time, and decided to play again recently. BUT, before I did that, I came on the forums and read a lot to get caught up :) (by the way I was shocked to see I still had a character on [FN]... it's probably been four years now).

Not knowing I actually still had a character, I joined an empty [FN] server on Edana expecting to have to level a new character. But when I found the old character, I picked it, and started reading the tutorial messages in Edana for the heck of it.

All of a sudden, someone joined the server and comes up next to me... it's this guy named Zun! I'm thinking "great, someone to chat with!" He asks me if I like gold. Thinking he's offering me free stuff, I say no, I don't want free stuff. He says "no, you fool, gold... gold coins." Needless to say, it degresses from there, and my first confrontation with another player in years didn't go so well... I even took a screenshot of the end of our conversation right after that.

The reason I was posting is to inquire as to whether or not this is how most players act? I was thinking maybe he just wanted someone to level with or play the game with, and he wanted to take me along... but I don't want hand-outs, and when I refused, he got hostile. But maybe he's just being a jerk... I would like to play MS:C again, but if this is how most people behave, I can think of far better ways to spend my time.

The majority of the players on msc are great to play with. You just had the misfortune of running into zun who can be a bit hostile at times.

Fixed :V

But yeah, Zun is the only genuinely idiotic member of the community. He'd step over his own dying mother if it meant he could play moor onlein gaems.

Looks like someone figured out [xxx]. Maybe he actually has two brain cells instead of one... :!:

What's kind of sad, though, is that noone can join Cyrez's server now. And by looking at the image I can tell that it's been like this for almost seven-and-a-half hours already.

If I make a thread that calls for a global ban of Zun now, will everybody >_> at me because I've already called so many other bans in the past (Reckless-Fire, masterswordv1.0, Kokris, Izikar, list goes on) or will everybody be like  and then comply? Or can someone else make a funny, flashy, colourful ban-Zun thread?

We're low enough on detectable dedicated servers that blocking one like that becomes a direct threat to the game.

I've a good mind to delete his character over it, but I sent him a message requesting to cease and desist at hour three. This was resolved before he received the message (and has not yet received it as of this post), so I suppose I should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he would have reacted positively to said request.

If it happens again, or if anyone else tries the same, however, insta-delete and ban, no questions asked.

Also, for the hosts, to avoid this sort of attack, set "sv_proxies 0"

I believe I already have him banned from my dedicated server (rarely up). He's also been killing people with <100hp again. At this point I'd support a global ban.

Eh...

Something very odd has come up... and I suppose I should reveal it, if for no other reason than to keep with the topic's title...

It wasn't Zun doing the attack...

That isn't Zun's IP address... It, in fact, belongs to "Joe!" (Yes, Joe, the long time player and former FN host.)

If anyone would like to join me in a collective "WTF!?" at this moment, please feel free.

Curses, now I actually owe Zun an apology for directly accusing him of doing the attack on Cyrez' server :?
Maybe Joe drank too much booze again.

Zun: I don't know you, but remember the day an FN host saved your hide for the sake of uncovering the truth.
Joe: I don't know you either, hmmmm... Oh, here you are in my ban list. Okay, then. :)

wtf

This is what I deserve for not testing on my own server first, I suppose.
IIRC, a custom [xxxx].cfg that popped into an infinite loop with odd results.

Apologies. (Not to Zun, mind you. (wasn't trying to frame him for anything either. [xxxx]+ cfg's blew up before it finished.))

On the other hand, I think I still remember how it worked. Not sure how the proxy duplicated itself or whatever the hell it did, (it should have left once [xxxx] crashed =|), but It looks like I found a devastating exploit. Willing to submit, if requested by a developer, after testing. On my server, of course...

In that case I suppose I'll lift your ban, but, good god, be careful next time. And please ask first. :(

Either I'm too drunk right now to get it, or this just doesn't make sense.
Need... bed...
