I started coming up with ideas of a sort of "Defense" map. Think "Helm's Deep." maybe with a little story behind it: "Oh noes, we pissed off the orcs, and they're attacking our city!!"
I was thinking the basic design, would have an open area where orcs spawn, with a fortified wall, then into the city with buildings and stuff, then a small-ish castle. i'll try to illustrate now:

Basically, you'd start by climbing up the wall and trying to defend from orcs. they would send archers to snipe you, and trolls to knock down the wall. if the trolls reach the wall, and stay there for long enough, the wall will collapse, and they would move into town. then, you must defend the castle. it'll be the same as the wall, when they reach the gate for long enough, the gate breaks down and they enter the castle. at which point you lose.
Maybe have limited waves, and if you survive offer a reward. possibly increase teh reward based on the number of commoners that survive?
anyways, any suggestions/comments?
