I have people with skullblades on my server, 2 of them as we speak right now, because they found them in easy-to-access chests. And some people with an extrodinary amount of gold because of an exploit on helena with one NPC selling an axe for 15 gold, then if you sell it back to him he offers an insane amount of money, therefore making profit each time, now how am I going to stop this from happening? Too many people who are doing it and I'm sure there's no way to reverse this in patches.

Well, they probably wont open the official servers untill the money exploit is fixed at least. hopefully the other problems wont be too hard to fix. and once they are fixed just play on the official servers to avoid cheaters.

right now the only thing thast is really bothering me is my character gets deleted in between map changes sometimes.

here is what happens exactly. i change map and it shows no characters, even though i have one. i exit out, create a new game on the map i was going to, and my character is back and i can continue.
though sometimes this doesnt work and my character is deleted permanately. i have no idea why this happens. it hasent happened on a certain map change... i dunno

EDIT: with all the complaints, i just want to say that aside from the few bugs, major that they are, at least imo, the game is awsome. the new interface takes a little getting used to, but, as far as i can tell, is bug free and way way better. the bank is awsome. reskins are all sweet. the new maps are amazing, and the new effects are tottaly :oldshock:
i have yet to view the real time refecltion. i think i have it turned on.
so yea... just wanted to say thanx. despite its flaws, MSC is amazing.

yes but it only takes a couple of bugs to totally ruin an ORPG

Well after spending a great amount of time on it hardly sleeping since release and saving up enough money to buy the platemail armor, my character was deleted thanks to the bugs. Honestly guys I don't think this was ready for release, there is way too many bugs still lingering around.

ok from what i can see i have 7 comps in my house, 1 can host games and its the only one with win 98 im not 100% sure what the prob with the hosting or joining is but yea, and i also found out that when your char gets Deleted its not really Deleted its happend 2 me a few times and i just change maps and i get my old char back.

I know that there is buggs there are buggs in every game but i wanted 2 lets the team know that the game is 1mill times better that the old MS and not to get overwelmed by the few buggs there are and the complaints
you guys are doing great and i will always support this MOD. :D

Moral to the story: setup a beta-test next time. Don't take after Microsoft, and make every beta a full public release. ;)

It's prettier and all, but really, none of the major bugs have been fixed. I crash in map transitions as much as ever (more, depending on where I'm going)... I guess the inventory is less bugged - still buggers out from time to time though... Character deletes are less common, but not eliminated. PK level's still bugged, people can still rob people's corpses, things dup, server crashes more than ever... Nothing really resolved - but... the game looks a hell of a lot prettier.

Hopefully by 1.1 it will become more than an aesthetic upgrade.

I'd give praise, but I find criticism more effective and useful than positive reinforcement when it comes to game development. ;) (Something about the ability of most modders to deny the negative)

I just want to say that the public release for some reason is more buggy than the dev build just before the release. We are completely clueless as to how some of the more critical bugs came about.

There seems to be multiple instances where people have found problems with the installer.

I would suggest re-releasing it in a different fashion then you have now.

who knows, that could fix a lot. or nothing. worth a try?

Please go grab NSIS and make a self *installer* instead of a self extractor next time. If I get one more IM on "how do I install this thing?" I am going to scream.

Also note: self extracting 7ip sfx archives are detected as malware by some virus scanners.

See ye old thread on how to make an NSIS installer that detects Steam.

I'm not supposed to say anything positive, but I am glad you guys pounced right on the bugs - hopefully there's a server side patch for some basic issues, at least, before tomorrow - then maybe I'll have some hair left.

Guess what "Ye old thread" doesn't work. I spent 2 hours trying to put it together.

Jeeze, J-M and Crow managed to do it just fine based on that thread. ><

Also still works for me... All my Enhancer updates have been via that meathod... As was Natural Selection's last release, and one of the WW betas.

Send me your NSIS source?

Although, one thing is, I think the links in the ye old post are dated/cropped, NSIS and the HMSoft editor are here now:
nsis: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Download
hm nsis edit: http://hmne.sourceforge.net/index.php#Download

Here also is the source for the 2.11 Enhancer, in case maybe there's syntax confusion:

Kuroneko, that installer worked fine for me.

I can make one if you want and then I can send it to you so you can check if you like it.

Tomorrow, that is
