It's fine, I recommend adding some gold plating to the feet, wrists, and belt area (see original AoB).

The stats are 40% base protection and immunity to gold and XP loss on death.

Oh also, where can I get the model and texture template for these dwarven armors? I wanna try making some myself some time.

look on page 9 for the texture i'v been using to create these. if you'd like a uv i can get you that too. the model hasn't been compiled yet, i was going to wait till i was done with all the textures (and the other models that are different from this one) before i sent it out to be rigged and compiled. but if furion won't mind ill send him what i have so far so he can compile it. although what ever you make i'd suggest making a human version also.

okay, give me a minute i need to make sure i have everything set up right. do me a favor and check for any problems with the mesh. when i imported the original, none of the faces were connected and i had to weld them back together. so just keep an eye out.

edit: actually i just found a ms3d exporter script so ill upload what i got using that in a moment.

edit2: actually... nevermind. none of the export scripts i found seem to work right. ill just export to as many file types as i can remember milkshape can import and you choose the one that works best.

here ya go: http://www.mediafire.com/?m0dvugf0y6gj38k

best i can think of to add extra detail to AoB

No it's not dead as far as I know.. I just finished the main model itself.. and now I'm done with it since I can't really UV well, it needs armor and weapons done for it now, which I'm too lazy to finish off XD anyone is free to continue this project, so long as my name is still there :p

Ceriux's link is dead, but if you have a link with his armor skins, that'd be nice.

I don't think we'd actually need new models for the weapons, per say, though they'll look a bit oversized on him. What we'll need is new animations... Which isn't as bad as it sounds, as they are all still, single frame, animations - they just match the player boneset and mimic his movements. So it's less new animations, and more of a scaled down and adjusted set of bones. I think that's only one for each consolidated model - so four - as seen in models/weapons/p_weaponsX.mdl - and another for models/misc/p_misc.mdl (misc. items). I suspect the dwarf's bone names need to match up with the current player model's though - not absolutely sure - possibly the order and connections as well. :\

It'd be nice to do something with the viewmodel beyond simply changing the view level though. (Which I think is to be done code side, rather than model side.)

Then I'd need some coding magic from MiB, to enable the race selection. Given that elf player models are no where in sight yet, I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with my original plan for the alternate leveling structure, where the dwarves were to be more generalist oriented, and the elves more specialist. I might, just for sake of holding my interest, go with a point-build system for the dwarves that'd be more along the lines of what I'd like to see in an MORPG first, and figure something more elaborate for the elves later. Either way, it'll be quite a balancing act to make it all work well against the current default human builds.

This is the first of three days I've had with full home internet access for weeks. I've hardly been able to do anything for MSC with the family situation. I've got like 30 pieces of mail in my inbox that need answering as it is. So this is all going to be slow going. :/
