Just overflowded, so i guess the closest time to this post should put my character working again.

Reason: I believe that my item count is under 60 (possibly 57 or 58), just forgot to take of my ushield when i decided to votemap. I guess my thought about dual wielding shield + 1 handed weapon = overflow comes to be true. :wink:
I think what causes the overflow is the loading character menu section, when i see my main character it doesnt even have the U shield with him nor the 1 handed weapon. Which makes kinda sense if it tries to load something that's not there in some sort of way? :?

Unless there's already something wrong with your character, I can't see shield+wep=overflow... Like Thoth said he does it all the time, and so do I, with no problems.

well, each time i overflowded using shields it was with a U shield in hands i think, still i saw masterchief overflowing the same way with a rune shield and litch/flamelick or something? Both of us have 1 lboh, but his item count was higher than mine at the time probably.
Anyways, like the usual... it's one of ms:c's random wonders of overflowing xD

The thing that causes overflowing is when the list of script names in your inventory gets too large to send from the server to the client.

Your character has a single "item data" string, it doesn't matter where the items are on his person.

The reason we can't predict exactly how many items it takes to cause an overflow is because different items have different script names.

For instance, five items (list of bullsh*t script names):
"swords_blood;smallarms_dark;bluntarms_skull;axes_jinxed;item_egg"

Might take up less string space than three other items:
"swords_chaosandorder;smallarms_bladeofevil;bluntarms_crusherofskulls"

Thing that makes it hard to fix is the way the data is encrypted and sent from server to client is chaotic indeed. Besides the original creator, who is long gone, Shuriken was the only one to ever get a grasp on it, but he was driven off before he got to work out the kinks in his fixes.
