First, here are his system specs:
"Two Intel Processors, 1.8 GHZ each. a gig a of ram, ATI Radeon video card with about 512 MB of memory"
Next, here's what's wrong. He gets random spikes, with no ping issues. When he walks into town (edana for example) he lags like crazy. He's tried playing on both XP and Vista (dual-boot) and the lag issues are the same. He says he'll mess around with settings, but I want to see if there's a known fix for this issue. He has (well had, he played last month) the latest update. I think it might have something to do with entities (IE random spikes when the rats spawned or all the villagers in town, and increase in lagginess when players came too close).
Does anyone know exactly why, and what he can do to fix this? Changing rates or something?
