Some people have reported problems getting the battery cover off the W850i, once the battery has been installed. We therefore suggest testing this within the return period, so you can swap your phone if it's affected.

J-M? Lunatic.
Explanation: I ordered this phone, the Sony Ericsson W850i, together with a subscription to a certain phone service, and yesterday, tuesday 17-07-'07 at 12:20, some dude from the delivery company delivered the phone to my house and the papers and forms for the contract of the phone service.

After removing the battery cover, inserting the SIM-card, inserting the battery and putting the battery cover back in place, everything seemed fine. The phone works and is actually 100% awesome, but to update the firmware of the phone I need to charge the battery, remove it, and put it back in place. However, the battery cover just won't budge.

It's stuck and to be more precise it's so god damn stuck that it appears somebody just superglued it. It's totally nuts. I went to a local store associated with the company I bought the phone from, and this dude from the store also broke a sweat trying to remove the battery cover and then he was like "I'm afraid I'll wreck it if I try any harder, I guess you'll have to send it back." and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I'm going to send this piece of crap back and they had better send me a new one that can actually be opened without having to use a laser cutter >_>

I also looked up my problem on THE INTERNETS, and it appears I'm not the only one with this issue. The quote from the first post of this thread should illustrate that.

And I am motherf***ing pissed. Damnit, such an awesome phone and now I have to send it back just because of that half-assed battery cover. Jesus Christ.

That thing looks fascinating (and I rarely say that when talking about cellphones because they all look alike) but it must be really new; I can't find it on the websites of all the big Dutch cellphone stores.

You are here --> X
Mikkel's got that cell and he throws it around all the time. :| The amazing thing is that it's not even broken yet. It's one of the least fragile cellphones there is. I prefer the P990i though.

Actually, this means of communication is better than any phone, cheap, durable, and easily replaced.

well, first you'll need to drink enough Mountain Dew for it to replace your blood, after that - your brain will get enough power from the dew to broadcast your thoughts.
