I'm OK with an axe until a permanent solution is found, but P, people like us already have the loot we want from those maps. I think we need some opinions of the people who are farming these maps about whether they think the loot should be axed or not.

(Or just some more opinions in general, I suppose =\)

I'll try to think of more ways to fix this..

Well, the above solution is what I think I'll use meantime, as it only involves commenting a few lines of code and a simple map edit or two... Orcplace will be the only place it'll be risky. And you'll have to remember once you go to Skycastle, there's no way back, so hit Orcplace first, if yer going to hit it at all.

Could just remove all the ms_player_spawns (The ones what make it spawn-anywhere) >_> People wouldn't be able to join mid-gauntlet, but the game's natural way of dealing with it would work to stop warpers ;-)

Too bad we can't trust people and assume that they wouldn't cheat by warping themselves to the boss maps. :?

I'd actually won't mind seeing some oldfasion walking from one map to another :D
(Just need votemap for foutpost or a temp trans)

I concur.

But then people would have trouble getting into a server where the player is not currently located, eh?

The two problems are that, 1) (pointed out) people can't join servers freely, which is one of the things I came on board specifically to do away with, and 2) it is actually bypassable in other ways.

One of the hard code tasks I should get to is obliterating that system once and for all, and switching it up so that it can be useful as a verifier for how you entered a map though, which I think is one of the ideas the original team was playing with. (ie. You can join any map with a player on it, but can't warp maps.)

Well, I only know of the one way to bypass it, so I can't really help with the other ways ;-)
