High Quality Texturer

Ok, first of all, new doesn't always mean bigger everything. Half-life 2 uses mostly for the game (not skins) 512X512 res. That's cool, but not to far from 128X128 and 256X256. And it's not all to do with how-good-computers-are-now, there's a factor called engine-limitations. Just like r_speeds is for mappers, polies and skins are for modelers.



Just want to clear that up, thanks for going through the trouble of making the full skin.

This is something i have to offer and am willing to spend time on my potential is that i could make ms into one of the most graphical hl1 mod ever it takes only a small amount of cooperation between us because you know ill be doing alot of work for you. My time is free now take advantage of my free time while you still have it it wont be long before all my free time will be gone. dont throw away a good oportunity to throw your name out there heck if it was to succeed i could just about gurantee that you would make a story in pcgamer which will put ms out there all it takes is a little portion of your time.





That model didnt look so good for one reason is that texture was resized you can tell because around the black hairs of the boar looks fuzzy which is because it was streching the image over the model im trying to make it so it pretty much embeds it rather that streching it so when you look up close at it it looks crystal clear insead of blotches of different colors. i think he resized the texture but thats alright cause we will have to prepare that model anyways to support such a high resolution texture but the results in satisfaction to the gamers will pay. as well as yours.

If you cant change the models to fit the texture, then change the texture to fit the model, if you are good, you can make a low quality texture look great, hell, anything is better than the diseased pickel boarskin that we have now.

Yeah... Why make über high res textures when you can´t make them work? :p And the only one that actually voted here that CAN vote. Is Con Artist. :p

Well seen as the people posting in the forums are a majority of the people that are devoted players, they should have some say. Geeze, bastards try to make people feel so powerless.

Of course the people can say their opinions. But it´s useless to vote when they can´t change anything. In the end it´s always the developers votes that counts. So just stop it .

tryed that i hate when you look up at the boar up close and its all pixely and blurry its overall better to change the model around a bit besides when i first played ms the first thing that struck me is bad graphics i have a friend from vietnam who gets sick from playing hl mods with low grahpics ms was one of the mods that made him sick.

I think MS is one of the HL mods that HAS Acceptable Graphics. (I don´t like the metal look on shooters)

What I mean is... That I love the nature, and I kind of hate the city (where FPS often show up in, like CS, HI ect.)That´s of course my opinion. I don´t like guns, Even if they´re better modelled than the swords in MS. Of course MS could have ALOT better graphics, But I still think that MS has some nice graphical moments :)

I think it comes time for us all to upgrade our computer my next computer upgrade will have the new

4ghz proccessor

4 gb of 400-512 mhz ddr ram

256 8x radeon video card

2 80 gb hard drives



it all comes down to if you want to have a awsome gaming expieriene its about time you upgrade. one of my goals in maya is to model and animate and produce a movie called the future of gaming it will have everything modeled superb almost picture like and it will look like a character is gaming and ect and it will blow people away cause in the near future (probably 5 years) graphics will be that good. but for now it will make the gamers anxious to get there.

Homestar I was being sarcastic in my word usage. But anyways, the other mods that have guns, well they do a great job of detail on the guns, I don't see how it could be so hard to do just as good or better doing swords and the liking.

Actually, there is a GREAT deal of difference in 512x512 and 256x256, not to mention 128x128.



Higher resolutions allow for more pixels on the details. A scratch on a wood surface could look alot more detailed on 512 than on 256. Blotches, small spots to simulate the worn and torn effects caused by age disappears.



True, you could have the same kind of quality and detail on 256x256, if it's a wall texture, but 512 allows for much more detail.

On a model, it's critical that it has as much detail as possible.







By the way, the boar model is 5-6 years old, which would explain it's tackyness.

If we are the community of Ms shouldnt we have power of influence upon ms. I believe are vote is worth something if it wasnt how would you know what the people want agreed? Can i have a vote on that?

Sure, the community can suggest things, but we can't force the team to make someone be a dev. If the devs haven't agreed to let him be on the team, then there is probably a reason for it, maby they will, just not atm.

right now i been arranging and talking with the admins mostly the whole deal on it is people dont want to take the time but as you know its well worth the time effort. High resolution textures throughout the game would make this game skyrocket in the amount of people who use it they want to know they are making and wasting there time creating a character in a game that is something they would find acceptable so far in texturing it was hard for me to even start playing ms actually i started playing after i found the mod and saw that it had great potential but needed alot of work graphics wise and i sought out to find the dev team for it, it all brought me here and well the only thing i need now more than votes are people willing to remake alot of the wad files and model files to suppor thigh textures i need people saying hey ill help you make the models and wads also cause right now i would usually charge a amatuer team to hire me about 2-5k depending on the job if i was offered a job to do this i most likely would have charged a game company 10k to hire me as a texturer u have a good man in here with some pretty high potential if anything i suggest taking advantage of it. i thank you alot for the supporters in here your all good friends.
