Just started hosting and Security issue yay!?!

Been awhile since I played MS:C, more so I played the original MS. I was happy to see a recent update so it peaked my interest in hosting a server. But last night as I was playing I went AFK in Edana and a player named something like trollololol joined and said Hi. Somewhere after that I returned to see a message in the top-left corner letting me know Developer mode was turned on. Oh and apparently the viewing model of my dull knife became a Elven Shortsword. In response to this I removed my rcon password and reset the server.

So my question to anyone who cares to read this is...

Did I take the proper steps to prevent another incident to the one above or need I do more?

If the server is not on FN there is nothing stopping people from going into dev mode.

Thanks didn't expect a reply so soon. To get access to the FN I'll have to PM Thothie correct? (not sure on this just cause some posts look rather dated ^^

Really oughta make access to dev mode controlled by a server-side CVAR.
