I'm having this weird issue when I'm trying to creat a lan game while in the middle of creating it, it just stops and goes back to the menu and I keep trying and and it does the same thing anyone know what I can do =(
I also reinstalled MS several times but it hasn't worked. :oldcry:
and sometimes the game crashes while doing it too.

And yes I have horrable spelling. :(

This bug is commonly known for it's "This steam account is being used in another location" comment.

Aparently this is a bug that came with the latest Half-Life 1 engine update. To by pass this simply open up your listenserver.cfg file and add in the line "sv_lan "1" this should fix your problem.

P.S. Your forum name should be spelled as "Adventurer" not "Adveturer" ;)

Your welcome, go ahead and talk to Kuroneko and see if he may be able to correct your name for you.

If he means his in-game name, then you can't change it once it is created, you will have to create a new character.

I wonder why I don't get this bug... I can still create MS, NS, ESF, and WW listen servers just fine.

If I could figure out why, maybe I could fix the problem for others.

If anyone who has this bug, and has some basic computer skills (can backup files and find MS folder without help), they can try using my configs. I doubt it would help, but we could at least verify whether or not it was a configuration issue that's come up as the result of an update.

- Sort your MS files by Type
- Select all .CFG files, backup all configs to a new folder
- Unzip the configs.zip provided below, overwriting the old configs
- Attempt to make listen server via "Establish a Kingdom"
- If this fails, restore your old configs from the new folder.

You can download my configs here.

I will not be held responsible by anyone who loses their configuration because they didn't read the instructions. ;)

If you try this, please report here as to whether or not this does anything. Still find it strange that problem is affecting so many people, but not me.

If it does work, you will have to rebind your keys, and we'll at least be part way to a solution (just gotta figure which var is causing the issue).
