Okay, I've been having some problems with my laptop. Before I start, I do have some problems with the battery. It doesn't even allow me to turn my computer on without it being plugged in, which sucks.

Now the problem I've been having is that my laptop randomly shuts off while playing Natural Selection and other Half Life 1 games. It does crash source but less often.

Is there any way to fix this? I'll be playing Half Life mods and it just shuts off my computer completely. I get a little FPS lag before hand, but no error messages or anything. Gets annoying playing NS for awhile getting my levels off, but having my game shut off near the end of the round. ._.

Does that mean you can't develop MS:S?

I can leave my laptop on overnight and have it still on the next morning.

But I can't play NS for 10 minutes without it shutting off. I can play Source games for quite a while.

HL1 NS and MSC eat more CPU than most Source games, so it could still be a CPU overheat issue. Do you have health monitor software for your laptop?
