Lodagond-5?

I think it might be a worthwhile effort to remove Maldora entirely from Lodagond-4 and stick him in a 'new' map, Lodagond-5, which will consist of only the Boss chamber which we currently fight Maldora in. This would (hopefully) reduce the amount of crashes that we experience with this map.

Thoughts?

Yeah sure, has long as i dont get to see lodagond-4 & lodagond-5 filled with useless fights again its fine by me. :wink:

Since the map will be smaller, it might also be possible to add new scripts to make the Maldora fight more interesting, challenging, or fun.

JM doesn't seem to understand that, even if the boss room gets cut off from lodagond-4 and added to a new map named lodagond-5, that doesn't mean that lodagond-4 should stay the same if things changed this much, amirite? :roll:

Why wouldn't lodagond-4 stay the same other than removing the boss fight? i think the map is fine other than blue side crashing with more than 1 person, its a fun map and should stay as such, if the crashes got fixed and we could actually fight maldora it'd be the best maps in MSC so far IMO

EDIT: Zeus, this isn't to "change" the map exactly, its a way to "fix" this map

Although, admittedly, I've no real clue what's causing Maldora to crash as often as he is, I doubt it's left over memory gew from the rest of the map. In fact, if it's a precache issue (as it could be under the current patch, but certainly isn't the way I've raped it since), the media precached by the other monsters on the map actually help ensure that doesn't crop up.

I've eliminated the Horrors, and replaced them with something, even more horrible, and got the water out of the way once the fishies are dead, so that end of things should be thoroughly dealt with, and I've done a great deal of precautionary stuff to Maldora, and eliminated the Arti-chest for good measure. I'd really just suggest holding off runs on Maldora to minimize frustration until the next patch. I'll put out said patch in February whether orc_for is ready to go or not, that being the only extended scripting and monster placement job left on the project.

Look, i was just trying to make a point. See lodagond-2 for example, good looking map which is short, filled with few things to kill, map can be beated in less than 5 minutes, which ends up being a major let down. I'm not saying that lodagond-4 or 5 should get additional fights or w/e, was just concerned to the fact if it would get more things added to them. Which i would hardly agree with.

So i like this idea of having a separate map for the boss fight, but then again i thought it wouldn't be necessary making a 5th map if:
-Lodagond-2 + lodagond-4 crystal parts connected in a single map named lodagond-3;
-The current Lodagond-3 would become Lodagond-2 instead;
-Lodagond-4 would become the Maldora fight.

Either way works, so i don't care, just stating my opinion anyways.

Ok... He's just saying that HE doesn't want more monsters or things to do on Lodagond-4 (or the not made Lodagond-5;) and is simply concerned about more monsters or filler being added to either Lodagond-4 or the hypothetical Lodagond-5.

I am Srgnt Rehab and I approve this thread.

+ this would let us boast about having 1 more map in the map list... The numbar of mapz iz all dat mattarz! (LODAGOND IZ A 5 MAP SRSYZ NAOW)

If this will even have a chance to make Maldora decide to actually die rather than crash the server to escape... than I would be more than happy to support this as best I can.

Or we could just rename him... to Exodia, then we could collect Exodia's Head, left leg, right leg, left arm, right arm. And then craft them together to win.
