I would like to work on a map for the game, I'm quite decent and clever at it. But, I would also like something to make sense for the game. Any one have any ideas to "stick" too or should I just make my own and have it's own story that relates to the story.

Thanks <3 :D

I have a map you can make. It isn't very entity heavy, so it would be a good map to start on for MS:C. I'll get a picture uploaded in a minute, along with an explaination.

Heh

Eh... It's not *thaaaaaat* dirty. I enjoy doing it a lot! I wanted to be on this team a while ago, but I was told to work on a Source version of Thorns. What a waste that would of been. . And I like how this one is doing cause source would lag more than going into Helena XD. Speaking of which, lemme show ya,for no reason, that "little" beginning of Thorns for source I got done. :D
This is the beginning where the guard is chillen.

And this is the cave to the left of it with those three rats, that lead down to the chest with the book and whatnot. (if I get in trouble for the quest spoiler, i'm gonna be pissed at myself :( . )

Agreed, that looks fantastic.

And I'm not recruiting people to do my dirty work.. This isn't part of my "series." This is just a map that Thothie wanted in and I drew out. I'm just waiting for his approval on my design before I give it to crazy. I apologize for the wait, by the way.

Does it matter how easy it is or how little time it took? No. It looks great, therefore he should be commended.

How do you know it's easy if you can't even say what it is properly? What the hell is "paint geometry?"

Eh, this a map for MS:S? Cuz, I dunno how easy it is to port that into HL1. I think we had one guy surrender on mapping, cuz he went to a lot of trouble to build a map in Source Hammer, and in the end found he couldn't port it.

Those are pictures of an attempt at source mapping for MS:S thornlands. I think he was just presenting them to show his past mapping experience.

mhmmm

they were there just to show off, i was just kinda proud of them cause they looked realistic and whatnot. I'm equally actually better with the original valve hammer editor than source. I like using triangles better than displacement. More control.

I have to disagree to that point strongly, you need more practice, and to learn how to use the displacement tool properly
