Did you actually touch the transition or did you just use a command?

And really, does it matter? Yeesh. =|

Someone's a bit rude.

When you go to a map, you spawn at the beginning. Only when you touch the other transitions do you spawn at them. At least, that's what I've seen.

He says he touched the trans, but, honestly, I don't care to go any further into this problem.

I see where you're coming from... I can't see how that actually matters.

Well that would depend on the map, although I can't think of any current map where it's a problem.

I noticed the bug when I first started playing again. I had played MS:C ages ago - back then I only ever ran my own LAN server. I'm afraid I have no idea what release I would have been using though. On starting again this time, I started off transitioning everywhere, like most newbies. I soon noticed on transitioning back to edana from thornlands that I didn't spawn at the thornlands transition in edana as it used to, but at the start in the temple. That's the bug panth0ur is getting at for anyone who hasn't quite understood what he meant :p

It's only an "immersion" feature, and I understand why you don't feel any need to fix it.

Why is it a problem?...You can just use the shortcut from the temple that takes you straight to the town. From there, you can even see the thornlands transition.

While it is not a problem in this case, I could see where it could become one in others. It'll be more important when we have maps that have areas that should only be reachable by transition from another location (such as the hidden Treasure Rooms of Shaddarh Palace, or what not.)

It maybe the thornlands trans to edana is setup wrong, but I doubt it.

No, it's all maps, making it a bug in the transition routine. That was just an example.

Mscave is probably the next big offender - anyone doing the mayor's quest by transition won't find themselves at the gatecity transition and therefore is oddly pulled out of the mountains :p It's difficult to think of anywhere else it affects though. I suppose it may be annoying if you're leaving deralia to speak to the guy in the house etc. As I said, there's not really any map that suffers because of it.

Blah, when did this start? ><

Maybe we should just do away with ms_player_begin's function and treat it like any other spawn, and re-rig the ms_player_spawn to allow spawning within the map regardless of location, the way ms_player_begin does.
