Might I suggest Ge.tt? I started uploading a 2.4 GB file there a few minutes ago and it's going at 2 MB per second! The upload is already at 23% now. I'm going to cancel it though as it's just a test.

I rather meant manually patch the servers via the FTP... File per file, instead of en masse.

Are you aware how INSANE that request is? You're asking him to manually replace dozens if not hundreds of files one by one.

Well, no, he's right, you can wildcard it. Not sure if the FTP access for the servers is currently working though - might have to use the server control panel and that'd be via an HTTP pipe - not sure how fast.

Filezilla's still chugging though - got further than Windows FTP did, and haven't had to resume yet (crosses fingers).

So... Filezilla says it's done... Says it's successful... And I look in the folder, and... It ain't there.

Uploaded something smaller, and that popped up in there alright...

...Can't seem to find it anywhere else...

WTF.

*sigh*

It's gotta go up there eventually... Trying through the website's control panel now...

HTTP file transfer protocols usually cannot upload files above like 8mb...
Filezilla truly is the best FTP program, fastest I've ever used. Mayhaps it just has to register on the server before it shows up?

:oldcry: pls fix s00n

They can, depends on the host setting... Speed suffers depending on how it's rigged up though, and most free hosting sites have steep caps, especially for non-subscribers (but I've not tried ge.tt, yet).

FileZilla actually took longer than the Windows FTP, seems slower than the website's control panel as well, and even apparently lied about succeeding. I usually like it though - seems to be having a bad day. :/ I just use the Windows FTP for convenience, when I can - got shortcuts to all my FTP sites in the file explorer and all.

Yeeeah... F*ck you domain.com, or whomever is responsible for this travesty... Clearly there's a file size limit that it's not telling us about.

Time to move onto ge.tt, I suppose - then I'll have to see if RKS can grab it from there, and stick it in the right place.

edit: ge.tt wants a premium account for files >50MB (prob not as fast for me anyways, given your loc - also had to whitelist it for my adblocker)... Hrmm... Wondering if I should chop this file up and get it to RKS that way...

Yeah... and its bandwidth is choked six ways to next Tuesday (ie. when I'd be done uploading)...

Plus it's flooded with sophisticated spiders - might not like one of our MP3's (though true, at this point, I can't think of which one.)

Currently, I've chopped the file into 200MB chunks, and am uploading to RKS via FTP. Maybe he can work it out - if it's a fixed limit of our hosting service though, IDK... I'd really hate to have to distribute it that way...

Mega wants a premium for over 500MB, sadly. I usually recommend it though, as it lacks the spiders and isn't as badly choked as Mediafire (which is why a certain lady I know uploads her more *cough* interesting AMV's up there). It's in New Zealand, but thanks to the cold war and the Norad<->Australia pipe, I get really good latency to NZ, but alas, premium.

Got the segmented files up on RKS, gonna have to summon him to see if he can fix... Dropbox is the slowest of them all, in my experience, and slows down more the larger you go. Did upload a 2GB file up there once for another mod though - took like two days, but at least their little ap kept chugging the whole time.

Huh, that's news to me... I have under 1mb upload speed and I can usually upload 1gig in 2-3 hours.

Either way, hope to see a post in the "Current Patch Discussion" by tomorrow :p

Sorry, I forgot about the account thing. However, I have a so-called Basic account (the free one which merely requires you to register), not a Ge.tt+, Premium or Pro account. And I didn't have to whitelist the website on my adblocker either (I use Adblock Plus). Hrmm...

Meh, given what UPS is charging for shipping these days... :/ (Gawds, returned some bad memory a few weeks ago for nearly half of what it cost to buy it - and that was in-state shipping.)

I may take another look at Dropbox in the future... Was quite awhile ago when I uploaded that biggie, but IIRC, the massive slowdown happened at a particular point of progress - from your testimony, maybe this file will be too small to hit that point.

Maybe take another look at ge.tt as well - but that's what it threw up at me when I tried to upload the file after creating an account. Granted, it didn't e-mail me to authenticate the account or anything, which I found a bit odd. (And I'm using AdBlock too. :\)

In anycase, RKS responded, got the segmented bits, and says he can upload files >800MB and doesn't know what be up - but I think he was about to collapse from exhaustion when he got the message, and didn't think to actually do it himself and gimme the link. He should be recovered from coma and be doing that soon, with any luck, and maybe we can figure waddup as well.

Meh, didn't wanna bump the betapack news thread and get people's hopes up.

I will, however, make a post there when I have to shutdown all the RKS servers and FN... Which might be real soon.

...Although, at the moment, my admin panel is fuxing with me again, which would make it considerably more of a pain, and potentially hazardous...

Bleh, time to pester RKS again... Poor guy.
