interested in seeing something that could possibly flip the whole science world upside down?

you know those little atom things? Well this crazy German physicist may have stumbled onto something that will change the face of science if he can prove just a few more thing correct.

Meh, nice to see someone willing to go back to basics on the microcosmic level at least.

I suspect all theoretical research on the macrocosmic level is locked until we give up the idea that 90% of the universe is made up of stuff we can't detect that has properties unlike anything we've ever found in the universe before, and just admit that one of our fundamental theories, that isn't returning the orbits of stars we observe, is just plain wrong.

We believed in Aether for almost 150 years before we admitted that... Mind you, said Ether was, basically, providing the same function, just at a different scale. One of the basic rules of science we seem to have forgotten: when you have to start adding elements to support your theory, the theory has failed.

Thankfully it's not my problem as I've no idea what I'm talking about. ;)

Extracting nuclear energy from hydrogen would instantly solve the world's looming energy crisis.
Tis the same basic problem there - I may not understand theoretical physics, but I understand people. The "energy crisis" is not the result of lack of alternative fuel sources, it is a lack of people willing to change, especially at expense of their livelihood. Strange how it all seems to come down to that, be it the energy crisis, theoretical science, or producing a decent video game.

ah but if this theory is proven true, power output would be one of the many benifits.

Of course with fusion it may offer alot of benifits as it stands, I think it could actually help in getting us further into space! In time we could possibly have light weight, high energy output devices for not just powering the big countries but all the third world countries as well.

However for as awsome as this could be, it won't see light untill its first A proven and B we actually move away from our dependance upon oil and of cousre C there is no red tape in the way.

but still I think the idea is still neat.

That and when your sitting around a fire and the crazy german physicist is trying to explain what his theory is, things are just that much more interesting.
