Hard to say since Morrowind lacks stuff from Oblivion and Oblivion lacks stuff from Morrowind, but i voted for Oblivion mostly for the 'if you hit, you hit' system

Well... Oblivion misses alot, same does morrowind. Most fans votes for Morrowind.

Oblivion got more bugs. And in every quest you need to kill someone.

If there were a remake of Morrowind and remade Oblivion and set them into the same game, bigger with more quests. Cooler graphics, physics, some of the new stuff from Oblivion. And fix the bugs.

Voted for Morrowind because of the slavery and merchant crab :D

I tried morrowing. I really did try to get into a few times. I never could get my mind around all the stuff you needed to do. I guess the senseless killing of Oblivion (as well as the easier interface and the smoothness of gameplay) got me on this one.

I have to vote morrowind, only for the sole reason the map size is freakin epic. I played for well over 100 hours and only explored 1/4 the main land and most of the ice land area. Beyond just the map, I also enjoyed all the different weapon variants and the freedom I had when enchanting items. Of course one can't forget the scrolls of leap frog that could make you jump half way across the world :D

overall I found Oblivion rather restricting vs morrowind

on the flip side

I found the overall combat in oblivion more interesting vs morrowind (honestly who sets up a hit miss on a bow and arrow?)

My information.
I voted for Oblivion because of how much more active the storyline is, its versatility in modding, and, naturally, the combat system... which I simply adore, when I compare it to Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, etc.

Heheh. Dridje, it's, "The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind," and, "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion,", that's the trademark that links them... for the name, at least. ^^

daggerfall is another in the series and was also hailed as one of the best RPG's of the time.

To be exact, it's actually:
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Also, the entire Elder Scrolls series consists of (from start to finish):
The Elder Scrolls: Arena
The Elder Scrolls: Chapter II: Daggerfall
An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire
The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal
The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles

And the next unofficial TES series is going to be called, "Fallout 3"(j/k). Which will be full of win.

Voted for Morrowind. Why? It wasn't made for console play in mind and it has more fluffing(Not as restrictive in Oblivion-Can't kill main plot characters is heavy lose). Obviously the console side of the market is such a heavy weight it even morphs the games Bethesda is producing(which makes my blood run cold).

Oblivion has its fun too I admit. Hit when you hit, is awesome. The lack of crashing was enough in itself to makes me almost forget its horrendous console UI.

If Morrowind was ported over and blended with Oblivion(hit when you hit!!!), it'd be awesomness. Better yet the whole planet of Tamriel and mabey its moon in TES:V, then it'd be the best evar(spelling mistake intentional for laming)

voted for morrowind

gameplay>graphics and IMO oblivion is just too based on killing while morrowind has larger quests that don't just revolve around killing. But Oblivion does last a considerable amount of time, as well as MW so it comes down to graphics and whether or not everyone in the game is out to get one another.

but if oblivion does have one thing over MW it's you hit, you hit, and vampires, being a vampire in oblivion is the coolest thing, as well as oblivion having online mods being in development.

and yes, this post is probably biased because my PC is currently too shitty to run it at a quality worth playing.

Look closely at earlier versions of MS and MS:C. you'll see that some of the "original" weapons (Pre-betapacks) like the katana and runeaxe are all based off Morrowind weapons. The Runeaxe is actually a Nordic Battleaxe, it even has the same shape and texture.
