I suppose this would only work if there are enough NS players in the community, but it's worth a shot. I'd like to get some NS Tournaments going on - whether they be team NS, team CO, or 1v1 CO.

I think, for now, I would like to see how many people are interested in participating in a tournament. Perhaps we can even have a crest (or something) for the winnar(s) ;-)

Tally:
NS players: 12
CO players: 12

Here's the list so far:
(1 = NS, 2 = CO, 3 = Both)
MiB (3)
Dridje (3)
Thothie (1)
Jeremiah (1)
Tull (3)
Shurik3n (3)
Netrogor (3)
Red Cell (3)
Blasto (3)
CrazyMonkeyDude (2)
tehRilez (2)
Thraxis (3)
Scaredwofl (3)
Kuroneko (3)

(Rules and other things pending if the idea takes off)

I would be interested in being in a tournament if it was team NS since I don't really like the CO mode/maps. Of course, I would have to start getting use to the controls of NS again since I haven't played it in half a year. :?

I hope that some tournament could eventually happen.

I know NS CAL league died - but isn't there a new thing for this? ANUS or something?

Hate the CAL players... Most of the effers are always such rage-quitting cowards, and don't know how to deal with pubs. I include most of the group I got suckered into scrimming with in that. ;) If you can't enjoy a game without winning, this is not the game for you.

...and how is this serious, pray tell?

I consider "Serious Discussion" to be "Off-Topic" sans the spam. This is a serious topic =\

And I'm sure there are public tournaments, but this is an MS:C one ;-)

Meh, I'd consider serious discussion something analytical involving world changing or life changing events... But if I moderated this section, I'd rip it a new one.

Other mod discussions are clearly simply off-topic. ;)

Actually I used to play NS and noone was able to enjoy the game without winning. If someone didn't have the "pro" abilities people expect in a non-private server, they votekick the player.

NS sure is a very aggresive community

Tis why I play on Jigglypuff's... We boot the aggressive people, as well as the folks who rather goof around than play (well, usually). :)

You already know my opinion of CO. I dun think we have enough peeps for an NS tournament (12), and I’m also not real fond of competitive play through cliques – but if it’s just us against each other, then okay. ;)

I would love to join in, but then theres the ping problems. Since I live in Europe and the the rest of the people who posted in this thread lives in US (save FER). But perhaps theres enough people over here too?
I used to play NS quite a lot a few years ago but I never experienced any noob-votekicking at the servers I played at.

I'm in for a tourney, if your looking to get dominated.

Actually NS is one of the games I'm pretty mediocre at, by my standards.

My information.
I could possibly play (if the given time allocated for play suited my being home from school & awake)... I'll play like crap, though; I guarantee it. I still haven't gotten my computer back...

If Kuro would like to move this to off-topic, I have no problem. I just thought it would belong here.

CO would be 1v1, so the times wouldn't be much of a problem ;-)

Oh, and Thothie.. You should make a bitegun for MS:C as the prize! :p

I did want to make that NS tribute map-easter egg, where you dropped into a Kharrah hive, and had to fight skulks, lerk, OC's, gorges, and an Onos. I've a good idea how to make the scripts too - but I don't think its worth the time it'd take from other stuff that I'm very far behind on already.

...Think I could do everything but webs... No clue how to do webs. I suppose some of the scripts would be useful for other monsters though, so maybe it wouldn't be a total waste of time (just port the same script to a different model).

Meh, you get 12 people together who ping decently to the same server and I'll be there...

...Good luck with that. ;)

yarr NS, I get eaten a lot but I can at least hold a gun, its the same the other way around as well.

Unless its one of those super rare times where I am so damn good the admins want to kick me because they suspect me as a hacker.

Yarglkwbeglk. Is it too much to ask for first-posts in this topic to include "I'm in", "Not interested", or "I'm thinking about it"?

I'm including you as a yes, Blasto >_<

I'd be up for CO.

I've tried classic, and, TBH, I could never get into it. I've always been a fan of fast-paced deathmatch.

Added. We have 9 players for CO and 9 for NS, atm. (If you didn't list a preference, I added you for both)

FER, I need confirmation if you're playing ;-)

When were you thinking of doing this?

In case I need to make room for it because I don't really know what I'm going to be doing the next few weeks, other than school stuff.
