Would mounts be cool in the game ?

Id rather have new monsters that involve horses and such, at least that would last longer than a single map that is specifically designed to involve horses.

only horses are gay :O
more mounts like horses,wolves,(boars,rats)

example a wolf:

requried xp:200/100
requried dmg:20.0/10.0

and maybe this can be:
200 xp/20.0 dmg = ride+attack
100 xp/10.0 dmg= only ride

and this is able to make that for every mount that can be ^^ :!:

I find that mounts would be pointless, given that the absolute largest map, still wouldn't take long to run across as the game is anyways. I could see it on a different engine with huge maps maybe, but it doesn't seem practical for hl1's engine.

If the dynamic chest/shop scripts/code gets worked out, i could see a sort of pack mule that would spawn at the beginning of levels, however loading up to 750 items (if it keeps the 75 item count per char and still counts as a character for each persons items) would probably just lead to more edict eat ups on maps, as possibly so would adding such an option to mounts that you could actually ride.

I know work has been done on reducing edict counts and improving stability, but I can't imagine this being implemented in a way that makes sense (smaller levels, no need for double/1.5x damage) as everything you can add is pretty much already in the game in someway. If you want to go faster, theres raven mace and speed pot, if you want more armor/health there is ice shield/pop/gpop, if you want more damage theres demon blood (only thing that even comes with a remote drawback that I can think of at the moment)

Add the fact that MiB has finally got armors working and viewing correctly on humans, let alone putting armors onto horses/wolves/mounts and getting them to view properly.

I just don't see it being feasible nor reasonable for a ton of work to be put into something that isn't really helping anything in the game. Just giving people a different way for people to have their cake and edicts.

While I could add an Orc Calvary wave to Old Helena that rode by skewering players, judging by the other complaints here, I suspect it'd be more challenge than team whine would be willing to accept... Lest, of course, they were worth about ten million XP a piece.

Not that it would stop me, if you wanted to assemble the model. ;)

Well, MiB's new storage system gets around the 75 item limit, and *hopefully* the scripts for items stored are properly removed along with the item all associated edicts. (Client scripts are so sticky, I can't guarantee it though - save after map changes.)

lol , i think it would be 'that' thing ... ebcause i mean at the moment you are always doing the same things on mastersword ... and if mounts would come to game you would do same things or bit ... cause i think there are new maps then but .. then you can get mroe power with it , maybe like a dmg boost +5% or +10% ... dunno what i wanted to say ... I edit if i found what it was ... :|
